doing my bit (Independence day special)

Though i m not going to pen down something really new and exciting..going to write things which is discussed and scrutinized thousands of times...
As a person,as an Indian i love my country and my love is intrinsic.till date,i get goose bumps and tears in my eyes when i sing or listen to national anthem...I can never dream of leaving my country..but is that enough??May not be..May be i do not know how to show my love for my country..which is why a thought peeped in my mind last night.. which i feel has a lots of sense in.

Patriotism is not about bloodshed and wars(it not about watching parades at home eating popcorn also..missing a Sharukh's movie to watch the parade)..If there is a rule to be followed,i will.If there is a platform ticket to be bought,i will.If there is a tax to be paid,i will.If there is a red signal I will stop(preferably before the zebra crossing).I will be a conscientious citizen, just like anyone else...

few confessions
I can not speak for hours to motivate people and myself being neck deep in corruption.
I can not teach my youngsters freedom if i sink my teeth even in what will my younger brother will wear for a party.
I can not sacrifice my life at LOC but can fight for a person waiting for justice..
I cannot stand in elections but definitely i will caste my vote for the most rightful person
I can not teach everyone but will try to educate at least the lady who comes my place for household work.

its fantastic ... a genuine thought ... a genuine feeling of every person ... put in words ... fantastically presented ... words seem flowing genuinely and straight from the heart ...

nice write up....
theres no need to show your patriotism...keep it close to your heart...do little things that matter..like throwing waste in dustbin only and not anywhere we want...and in turn keep our nation clean..may be small ..but as u know..

I think all people who appreciate or write articles such as these are patriotic cowards...patriotic because they think of something like the country which to most youngsters means nothing...cowards because they don't want to leave their comfort zone and break the equilibrium...my words may be harsh but they are true to the very core of it... and all of us know it...its not about defining what partriotism is all about but taking the first step forward...just following the rules simply proves nothing...and moreover when these laws and rules are formulated and implmented by people who are themselves neck deep in corruption...there are a thousand of examples to prove my point(the Delhi Land Acquisition case for example, taxpayers money used to waive off loans to farmers which is a form of political gimmick)...in today's world the only real and practical way to be patriotic is for EDUCATED INDIANS WITH A REFORMIST BENT OF MIND TO ENTER POLITICS...nothing else suffices...sad but true...THINK ABOUT IT...it may not be so difficult after all...

yes i agree with u abhishek that its nt just enough to write smthing wen in mood about patriotism. if u really want den do smthing and den show ur patriotism. just nt ly sitting in a quite room under an air conditioner and saying i want to do thid do that for country.

i also agree with u for the condition of corruption in our country. now a days people lyk to join government jobs coz dey will get bonuses i.e. in general oriya "UPURI" and dey say wen caught by police without helmet dat police are corrupt. Bloody son of a bitch first look at u den tell abt others.

any ways nice written sagarika. hope u hav nt just written dese thing just for d sake of filling ur blogs but u will implement it in ur lyf....
